The Red Lion Hotel Bellevue offers a convenient location near the highway and local attractions, particularly appealing to travelers seeking easy access to Seattle. However, recent reviews highlight significant concerns regarding staff professionalism, cleanliness issues, and unexpected fees, impacting the overall guest experience.

Pleasantly surprised! I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews but it is a great place to stay. We had the room right next to the customer service desk on the ground floor. It was large, clean, the A/C worked great and the bed was big and comfy. Bathroom had great water pressure and had a nice hot shower. Price was amazing and it is right across the street from a newly built tram stop to conveniently explore Seattle. Glad we decided to stay here after all. Don’t let the “vintage” appearance from the outside deter you. Very pleased.

SHAME ON YOU ..!!!!! Absolutely unacceptable experience at Red Lion Hotel Bellevue. My pregnant wife and I came directly from the hospital today after spending hours in OB emergency because she is very close to delivery and experiencing severe pain and cramps. The hospital advised us that delivery could happen any hour or any day and asked us to return immediately if the pain worsened. Because driving all the way back home would have been risky and stressful during this medical situation, I booked and fully paid for a room at this hotel in advance the night before. I also personally called the hotel earlier today explaining our emergency situation and requested an early check-in if possible. I was told by staff that they would accommodate us around 2:30 p.m. When we arrived around 3:45 p.m., my wife was still in pain, sitting in the lobby holding her stomach with OB emergency paperwork and hospital stickers visible. I respectfully explained our situation again and reminded the front desk employee about the earlier conversation regarding early check-in. Instead of showing even basic empathy or professionalism, the staff member at the front desk was extremely rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. She repeatedly said, “What do you mean by 2:30?” in an aggressive tone and refused to help in any way, saying no rooms were available and that we had to wait until 4:00 p.m. What shocked me the most was that within about 10 minutes — around 3:55 p.m. — the exact same employee suddenly announced loudly for everyone waiting in the lobby to line up because rooms were now available, and she started handing out keys to multiple guests immediately. So somehow, when a pregnant woman in visible pain urgently needed help at 3:45 p.m., there were supposedly “no rooms available,” but minutes later several rooms magically appeared. The lack of compassion, communication, and professionalism was unbelievable. The employee was chewing gum during the interaction, showing attitude the entire time, and when I politely asked for her name, she responded with, “Why do you want my name?” Everything is recorded on the hotel cameras. I completely understand hotels can be busy. I understand policies. But customer service, humanity, and basic decency should still exist — especially when dealing with a medical emergency involving a pregnant woman close to labor. The only reason we still stayed here is because my wife was exhausted, in pain, and we had already paid for the room while needing to stay close to the hospital. Management seriously needs to review the behavior and training of the front desk staff. One employee with this level of attitude and lack of empathy can destroy the reputation of an entire hotel. Very disappointing experience during one of the most important and stressful moments of our lives.

Upon checking in and starting to settle down we noticed a human toe nail next to the bed. It did not belong to me or my husband. Then as I picked up the phone I see a pubic hair or rather a short and curly on the phone charging box. The girl at the front desk offered to move us but wouldn’t bring the keys to us. I would not have been too bothered other than we were already in the furthest building from the lobby. We will definitely not be staying here again. Hall carpets are filthy and definitely not vacuumed. The entire hallway reeks of cigarette smoke. And it didn’t upon check in. UPDATE: Here is an edit I a more than happy to make. After speaking with the manager this morning, she was willing to relocate us as well as his housekeeping do a once over on the room before we are relocated. She was very apologetic for what was found in our room. And her customer service was top-notch. Because of the morning staff, I will be giving Red lion another chance.

So I have been there from 09 to 11/4/2026. The usual checkin time was 1500hours as protocol but I have been asked to wait until 1600hours before the checkin. Also, if I wouldn't have asked them for a checkin at 1600hours, they dint even bother to take a note. They have taken the securtiy deposit of 50usd saying it will be refunded after the checkout. But, now even after 2 weeks have been passed, I am nowhere of getting it. I have booked it via agoda and the email address that they have provided there is not working. Please be aware of this property before make a booking with them.

I booked a room on Priceline for 1 night. We arrived at 5pm, around 6 I left my adult daughter to take a nap while the rest of us ran to get food. When we returned she was asleep and there were bed bugs in the blanket near her face. We immediately took the bug to the counter and told them we would be leaving. They refused to give me a refund. I was charged over $200 for a couple hours and a terrible experience. pictures included of the card they gave me to contact manager with the bed bug, and the bedbug on the counter in the room when we asked Chat GPT what I already knew.

I was charged for an extra week I never stayed, and the hotel refuses to refund me. Their staff showed zero willingness to correct their mistake. Completely unacceptable—beware before booking here! (Added after answer from Hotel) Precision: I booked for two weeks, but I had to leave because I caugh flu and was unable to complete my work-related tasks that brought me to Seattle... I was charged for both weeks, and it was impossible to remove the week when I was no longer there; so matter what Red Lion Hotel representent try to say here, I just recall factual events.

I stayed at the Red Lion Hotel, and unfortunately, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The room had a strong, moldy odor, and the carpet outside the bathroom was wet. While I was sleeping, my body started itching, likely due to the poor condition of the bedsheets. The staff’s attitude was extremely unhelpful anything you ask for, the answer is always “no.” When we asked to see the room before booking, the front desk girl said no one was available to show it, but after we paid, we saw multiple staff members walking around. We also tried reporting the poor condition of the room to the manager, but the front desk staff said the manager was not available. Overall, this hotel is poorly maintained, has terrible customer service, and provides an unpleasant and unhygienic experience. Definitely not worth the money, I would never stay here again. That said, if you still decide to stay here, I highly recommend dining at Din Tai Fung nearby, the food is amazing and the service is excellent.

The hotel is old and has a highway motel feel to it. The hallways are not well lit and has a musty/damp smell to it. The carpets in the hallway and room could use some cleaning. Not the type of place you would want to take your shoes off. Do not try to check in even a minute before 4PM or else the front desk people will make you feel bad about it. Do not be catfished by the pictures on the website. The breakfast is a bunch of packaged to-go options like granola, yogurt, milk box, frozen sausage biscuits, etc. I would not return or recommend this place.

We got there about 15 min early, and they would not allow us to check in a minute early. Fine. The room is dated and smells weird, like musty. They charge nightly for parking after I paid in full before coming. The location is the only thing this place has going for them, since it’s close to a few places I wanted to check out. But I would definitely not return, and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to come here.

The location is right near the freeway. Great to just hop on and off, but the freeway noise is really loud. It cost 16.50 a day for parking. They don't say they offer free parking on site but they don't readily offer the info stating that they charge. If you want your room serviced you have to request that ahead of time. We opted to just have our trash emptied. You have to put it in the hallway before 9 am. When we got back they were empty but they didnt bother to put new trash liners in. The hallway was dirty. There was a leak that had happened at sometime and they did a lame attempt at fixing it. ? They are clearly just using this spot as a money maker without investing any money back in. 10 out of 10 would not recommend for the price they are charging.
