The Red Lion Hotel Bellevue receives overwhelmingly negative reviews, primarily citing issues with cleanliness, poor customer service, and significant billing errors. Guests consistently report outdated facilities, dirty rooms, and a lack of responsiveness from staff. While the location is convenient, the overall experience is marred by serious operational problems.
I booked a room on Priceline for 1 night. We arrived at 5pm, around 6 I left my adult daughter to take a nap while the rest of us ran to get food. When we returned she was asleep and there were bed bugs in the blanket near her face. We immediately took the bug to the counter and told them we would be leaving. They refused to give me a refund. I was charged over $200 for a couple hours and a terrible experience. pictures included of the card they gave me to contact manager with the bed bug, and the bedbug on the counter in the room when we asked Chat GPT what I already knew.
I was charged for an extra week I never stayed, and the hotel refuses to refund me. Their staff showed zero willingness to correct their mistake. Completely unacceptable—beware before booking here! (Added after answer from Hotel) Precision: I booked for two weeks, but I had to leave because I caugh flu and was unable to complete my work-related tasks that brought me to Seattle... I was charged for both weeks, and it was impossible to remove the week when I was no longer there; so matter what Red Lion Hotel representent try to say here, I just recall factual events.
I stayed at the Red Lion Hotel, and unfortunately, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The room had a strong, moldy odor, and the carpet outside the bathroom was wet. While I was sleeping, my body started itching, likely due to the poor condition of the bedsheets. The staff’s attitude was extremely unhelpful anything you ask for, the answer is always “no.” When we asked to see the room before booking, the front desk girl said no one was available to show it, but after we paid, we saw multiple staff members walking around. We also tried reporting the poor condition of the room to the manager, but the front desk staff said the manager was not available. Overall, this hotel is poorly maintained, has terrible customer service, and provides an unpleasant and unhygienic experience. Definitely not worth the money, I would never stay here again. That said, if you still decide to stay here, I highly recommend dining at Din Tai Fung nearby, the food is amazing and the service is excellent.
The hotel is old and has a highway motel feel to it. The hallways are not well lit and has a musty/damp smell to it. The carpets in the hallway and room could use some cleaning. Not the type of place you would want to take your shoes off. Do not try to check in even a minute before 4PM or else the front desk people will make you feel bad about it. Do not be catfished by the pictures on the website. The breakfast is a bunch of packaged to-go options like granola, yogurt, milk box, frozen sausage biscuits, etc. I would not return or recommend this place.
We got there about 15 min early, and they would not allow us to check in a minute early. Fine. The room is dated and smells weird, like musty. They charge nightly for parking after I paid in full before coming. The location is the only thing this place has going for them, since it’s close to a few places I wanted to check out. But I would definitely not return, and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to come here.
The location is right near the freeway. Great to just hop on and off, but the freeway noise is really loud. It cost 16.50 a day for parking. They don't say they offer free parking on site but they don't readily offer the info stating that they charge. If you want your room serviced you have to request that ahead of time. We opted to just have our trash emptied. You have to put it in the hallway before 9 am. When we got back they were empty but they didnt bother to put new trash liners in. The hallway was dirty. There was a leak that had happened at sometime and they did a lame attempt at fixing it. ? They are clearly just using this spot as a money maker without investing any money back in. 10 out of 10 would not recommend for the price they are charging.
They charge $16 a night for parking. The big rig also pays $16. Never been to a red lion who rents spaces to auto dealer rather than accommodating guest. This is ridiculous never staying here again. Rooms are dated. Not even one star but there’s no option for zero. Also all the trash cans are over flowing. So gross.
Perfect spot with access to many areas around Bellevue and to Seattle as well. It was a little on the older side, but that did not affect the quality of the stay at all. Room was nice, there's a pool, a gym, and even breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to stay a nice place for a cheaper value. I had a nice stay.
The cost of this dilapitated hotel was crazy. Be prepared to even pay for a parking space ! Absolutely bonkers! This place needs bare minimum updates /restoration. And a good cleaning couldn't hurt either but you really can't put lipstick on this pig. The only thing that could be said good for this is that it was easy to get to off the highway. The name Red Lion does not hold the weight it used to.
Rooms are small and the service is pretty ordinary. Rooms aren’t cleaned until you tell them to on a day’s notice (not same day) and even when you tell them they miss out on it. I told them 11 am but turns out I come back at 2 pm and my room is dirty. And on top of that the front desk gives you attitude instead of making an apology. Avoid this hotel.
